Honest review of Champion Windows—covering price, product quality, and the sales process to help you decide if they’re worth it.
We invited Champion Windows into our home to bid and quote our Twelve-Window Project. They are the ninth company who has provided a quote to replace the windows in our home.
Be sure to see the Wacky Window Woman Price Comparison Chart to see how the larger, well-known Replacement Window Companies stack up when you put them one against the other on the same project, giving us an apples-to-apples comparison.
Window Companies
We invited “Charlie” of Champion Windows into our home in the Spring of 2025. They sell replacement Windows, Sunrooms and Home Exteriors. They design, build, install and warrant all their replacement windows.
Champion is Energy Star 7.0 certified, American made and come directly to your home from their factory where they design and make all their windows.
Do Champion Windows have a LifeTime Warranty
Much like many of the others, although they advertise that it’s a LifeTime Warranty, it’s actually a LifeTime Warranty with limitations or also known as Limited LifeTime Warranty. After two years they indicate that they charge a Trip-Charge of $119 to come out and evaluate your situation. Be sure to read what’s not covered in the Warranty, not only with Champion but with any company you are considering for replacement windows. Some are transferrable one time and others have unlimited transferability from one homeowner to the next.

Is Champion Windows a Reputable Company?
“Charlie” arrived with his clipboard ready to give us his best pitch on why we should purchase Champion Windows. We had some small-talk in the beginning and he asked me to fill out a basic questionnaire to get my name, email and address. He did the required walk-about to measure the windows and confirm how many of them we wanted to replace, twelve in total. Ten are 3′ x 5′, one measures 2′ x 3′ and then one stationary that measures 48″ x 22″.
In his ‘kit’ he had samples of the frame so he could show us how they manufacture the frame and sash and then also to help me understand the profile and what they would look like on the exterior of my home. Champion only sells triple pane. Triple pane windows often require deeper window frames to accommodate the extra glass and spacers. So if you’re replacing double pane with triple pane, the existing window frame has to be compatible — or it might need to be modified or replaced.
Initially, I was bothered by the fact that when replacing my builder-grade windows with replacement windows, I was losing glass space and also, the windows would be thicker, so they would stick out a bit on the exterior. Also, in some cases if you have blinds that fit inside the window, you may have to replace those. This could be a great thing, if you’ve needed an excuse to get new window treatments or it could be considered just an additional expense.
Charlie also was one of the few who took the time to do the Heat Lamp demonstration. Some do this and make a show out of it and others don’t bother. They plug in a heat lamp and let it warm up. Then they place a single pane, double pane, double pane with Low-E, a double pane with Low-E and Argon Gas and then finally Champion also demonstrated how the Triple pane with Low-E and Argon Gas filled insulated unit allowed the least amount of heat through. This means keeping the heat out in the Summer and keeping the heat inside during the Winter months.
What is the average cost of a Champion Replacement Windows
Currently Renewal by Andersen is the leading the pack at $ 34,376 as the most expensive window. Champion falls right in the middle. Due to the fact that they only offer a Triple Pane Window, I would expect them to be more money than many of the others and this proved to be true.

Are Triple Pane Windows worth the money?
Triple pane windows come with several solid benefits, especially if you’re looking to boost comfort, energy efficiency, or noise control in your home.
Here’s a breakdown of the main perks:
1. Better Energy Efficiency/heating and cooling bills: The extra pane and added gas layers (usually argon or krypton) improve insulation.
Higher R-value / Lower U-factor: They retain indoor temperatures better, meaning your HVAC system works less.
2. Improved Comfort: Less temperature fluctuation near windows — rooms stay more consistent in both summer and winter. No cold drafts from window glass during winter.
3. Enhanced Soundproofing: The extra pane and two air/gas gaps significantly reduce outside noise. Great if you live near busy roads, airports, or loud neighbors.
4. Reduced Condensation: The interior glass stays warmer, reducing the chance of condensation or frost forming on the inside in cold weather.
5. Increased Home Value: Seen as an energy-efficient upgrade — could boost your home’s resale value. May also qualify for energy-efficiency rebates or tax credits, depending on your location.
6. Better Security: That third pane makes it harder to break through the window, adding a bit of extra protection against break-ins.

Are Triple Pane Windows worth the cost?
Downsides to Keep in Mind:
1. Higher cost (usually 10–30% more than double pane).
2. Heavier weight (can require stronger frames or modifications).
3. Diminishing returns in mild climates — triple pane is most valuable in very cold or very hot areas.
Be sure to see the Wacky Window Woman Replacement Window Price Comparison Chart. The quote for the twelve windows from Champion came in at $17,950. This included, White Vinyl Windows, Triple Pane, Double-Hung and grids on the two front windows. This comes to an average of $ 1496 per window. Also, this ‘final’ price was after he called in and asked if he could discount even more than his allowed discount, which had the price at $21,092 originally. I heard him tell his “manager” that this was the par price. His manager agreed to a further discount after this call.
Which Window Company is the best?
In order to have an apples-to-apples comparison of Champion against any other company we need to add in the cost to go from double to triple pane. Number one and number two on the list both included a price for triple pane and either would be less costly than Champion. However, when you also factor in Energy Star 7.0, Air Infiltration Numbers and U-Factor, then Virtual View is clearly the winner in this match up. Once you add in the upgrade cost of $600 and then also take into account, Virtual View's Window qualifies for the $600 tax credit, it's a no brainer if you have opted to go with Triple Pane Windows.
The cold winters + hot, humid summers + big seasonal swings do mean that energy-efficient upgrades (like triple pane windows) can make a difference, especially if:
-You’re sensitive to temperature or noise
-Your current windows are old or drafty
-You want to lower heating/cooling bills
Depending on where you live, triple pane windows might be over-kill, but only you can gauge what is important to you.
When we finally got around to making our decision, my husband and I, we chose Virtual View Windows. Their price, virtual experience sales model and the fact they they checked all the boxes on energy ratings confirmed they were the right choice for us. We did upgrade to Triple Pane, mainly due to sound.
